What is Long Term Care?
Long term care is assistance for someone with a condition or illness that limits his or her ability to perform normal “activities of daily living” (bathing, eating, dressing, transferring, toileting, continence), or care required because of severe cognitive impairment. The cost can be significant, both financially and emotionally. Not only do you risk the loss of all or a portion of your hard earned savings and retirement assets, your family may be faced with making decisions regarding your care at an emotionally difficult time.

Long term care insurance helps to protect your savings and family by providing more control over quality of care and level of independence by covering the following services:

  • Skilled nursing care
  • Intermediate nursing care
  • Custodial care
  • Home health/home care6a
  • Assisted living facility care7
  • Adult day care6a
  • Hospice care
  • Respite care
  • Optional services of a Personal Care Advisor or Care Coordinator

LTC Guard helps provide you with peace of mind in knowing that you can help:

  • reduce or eliminate the financial burden on family members.
  • maintain independence by providing choices for care – including care at home.
  • avoid dependence on Medicaid or other services.
  • prevent long term cares expenses from draining all or a portion of your retirement assets and other savings.

This long term care insurance is intended to be a tax qualified individual long term care insurance policy.
